Jose Julio Perez Morales, a youth coordinator with CONFENACA, will be talking about the living and working conditions of both the Dominicans and Haitians farmworkers in the Dominican Republic. He will discuss the work to protect "La Loma de Miranda" from being destroyed.
The National Confederation of Farmworkers (CONFENACA) is made up of more than 25,000 members in the Cibao region of the Dominican Republic. It includes as members, small farmers, farmworkers without land and farm worker cooperatives. CONFENACA has a strong Women's Association and organizes Haitian immigrants.
