Evangelical Leaders and the President Agree: Immigration Reform Is Top Priority
Washington, D.C — President Obama spoke about immigration reform during his news conference this afternoon. "My expectation is that we get a bill introduced and we begin the process in Congress very soon after my inauguration," Obama said. The following is a quote from Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum, a nonpartisan organization that advocates for the value of immigrants and immigration to our nation:"In the last 24 hours, influential evangelical voices have urged President Obama to show leadership and move immigration reform forward during the first 92 days of his second presidential term. Based on the president’s statement today, it is increasingly clear that immigration reform should be the first bipartisan legislative priority in 2013."
