Salem, Ore. -- In response to Monday's decision by the St. Louis County Grand Jury in Ferguson, Causa's Executive Director Andrea Miller issued the following statement:
“As Causa and our sister organizations are preparing to hold information forums to brief the community on President Obama's Administrative Relief for Immigrant Families, we are again reminded with yesterday's grand jury decision in Ferguson, Missouri that our Nation has a long way to go before true racial justice is realized. When government officials refuse to hold police officers accountable for their actions, our communities suffer, our families suffer and our children suffer. Our communities must stand together in solidarity and demand an end to police violence and militarization, and systematic racism. Causa stands with the people of Ferguson, the parents of Michael Brown and communities across the nation in demanding accountability for police brutality and injustice in our communities."
- Andrea Miller, Executive Director of Causa Oregon
