WASHINGTON - Today, the Phoenix Suns will wear jerseys identifying them as "Los Suns." The move, according to the team owner, is to show solidarity with Phoenix's Latino community and condemn SB1070, which will require police to verify the legal status of anyone who arouses a "reasonable suspicion" of being undocumented. VIDEO: How to make Immigration Reform a Reality

Last Wednesday, 60,000 people joined what was an incredible call to action on overhauling our nation’s broken immigration laws.

This new video comes from America's Voice and features Congressman Luis Gutierrez unveiling his principles for reform in October and calls on people to help build the movement for real immigration reform.

In 2007, opponents of immigration reform took credit for flooding Congressional offices with angry calls and faxes. They used scare tactics to frighten vunerable members of Congress.

Man Threatens to Blow Up Immigrant Advocacy Building

Last week, a man was arrested after threatening to blow up a Maryland based Immigrant Advocacy Group’s facility. Wesley James Queen II is reported to have used his cell phone to leave two messages for Casa de Maryland telling them to “not be surprised when your place blows up in pieces”.

In the other call, Queen threatened the President of Casa de Maryland saying, "Do not be surprised if one of these days that you find yourself with a bullet in the back of your brain".

About the increased threats towards immigrants, Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM), the national coalition of grassroots organizations fighting for immigrant rights at the local, state and federal level posted had this to say:

“This violence has permeated the anti-migrant message and made hate the driving force behind the movement. It is time to end the hate speech and end the immigrant bashing. No more violence. What we need is a sensible discussion about immigration, not death threats.”
